Jenney T. Shameklis, 87, of Norwood, passed away Monday, January 19, 2009. Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Rudis) Wasilunas.

She enjoyed a long and successful career as an executive secretary/administrative assistant. After many years of employment at Bird and Son in Walpole, she moved to Holliston in 1960 to raise her family, also working part time and then full time at various local companies, including Valpey Corp. and Marsalin Institute. After retiring, she returned to Norwood and enjoyed active participation in various senior and church activities. She was an active parishioner of St. George’s Lithuanian Church in Norwood, which was sadly closed in recent years.

She was the loving wife of the late Albert J. Shameklis Sr., mother of Albert J. Shameklis Jr. and his wife Doreen of Holliston, and was the proud grandmother to of Jaclyn C. Shameklis and Michael J. Shameklis of Holliston. She was the sister of the late Vito Wasilunas of Westwood. She is also survived by caring nieces, nephews, cousins, and her sister in law, Birute Wasilunas of Westwood.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 23, 2009 at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston at 10:30a.m.. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
