Holliston- 

Janice Carolyn Austin (nee Coutu), 75, of Holliston, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Born in Quincy, MA she was the daughter of the late Oscar Bernier and Georgia (Akins) Austin and her husband Nathaniel Austin.  

Janice was an avid scrabble player and enjoyed reading, painting, drawing, cooking, needlepoint and knitting. Most importantly, Janice loved her grandchildren and time spent with them.  

Janice is survived by two children, Carolyn “Missy” O’Toole and her husband, Jack of Holliston, and Jeffery Austin and his wife, Noelia Kunzevitzky of San Jose, California. She is predeceased by her son, Allan Henry Coutu.  She also leaves behind two sisters, Natalie Austin and her partner, Brian Kain of Rockland and Beverly Rhodes and her late husband, Bill of Plymouth. 9 grandchildren, Caitlyn and Patrick O’Toole, Mika, Iara, Sasha and Maia Austin, Nicole, Alyssa and David Coutu and 2 Great grandchildren Julian Jacobs & Jaxon Coutu. 

Family and friends will attend 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston on Thursday, February 11th followed by a small service at 10:00 am at the Chesmore Funeral Home in Holliston. A celebration of Janice’s life will take place this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice’s memory may be made to Holliston Pantry Shelf, P.O.
