Jane L. Stratton, 81, of Yarmouth Port, MA and formerly of Millis and Holliston, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of Edward “Doc” and Eva (Houghton) Holbrook.

Jane grew up in Holliston, graduated from Holliston High School in 1954, and later attended the University of New Hampshire. In 1972, she returned to the area, moving to Millis where she began a career in banking at Medway Savings Bank. She eventually became the branch manager of Framingham Savings Bank, retiring in 1998. Following her retirement, Jane moved to Yarmouth Port. She was an avid reader, book club member, master of the crossword puzzle (with the help of her Sunday morning gang), and was always up for a “beam do” with her friends. For the past ten years, Fred and Jane had wintered in the St. Pete, Florida area.

She is survived by her loving partner Fred Brown, her son Burt (Skip) Stratton and his wife Patricia of East Walpole, her daughter Betsy J.S. Hard and her husband Walter of New Hartford, CT, her sister,Susan Long of Pocasset; 5 grandchildren, Kerri, Michael, Christine, Brandon and Brien; and 5 great-grandchildren, Connor, Riley, Brianna, Burton and Foster.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 19^th from 5-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A private graveside service will take place on Thursday at Pine Grove Cemetery in Northbridge.
