Ogunquit Maine-

James L. Ferris, 78, of Ogunquit Maine and formerly of Hopkinton, died Friday, June 8, 2007 at his home. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice Augusta (Thompson) Ferris.

He was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and veteran in the Army as a Sgt. during the Korean Conflict. After his service he relocated to Westport, CT., then later moved to Maine in 1991. He had been a Manager at the Manererios Restaurant in CT. for whom he had worked for 20 years.

He is survived by 1 brother, Robert Ferris, and 2 sisters, Alice Gertrude Ferris Cardin and Barbara Ferris Baird. He leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews as well as 24 great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his lifetime companion, George J. Alex.

Visitation will take place at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe on Monday, June 11, 2007 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m.. A Prayer Service will be said by Father Clifford at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home.

Burial and Committal Prayers with Father Stephen Lilley will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Ithaca, NY on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 10:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445
