Hopkinton-

James Joseph Dumas, 76, of Hopkinton, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011
at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Everett, he was the
son of the late George and Mary (Maddox) Dumas Leontie. He was the beloved
husband of Rita (Matinzi) Dumas of Hopkinton.

A lifelong Hopkinton resident, he worked for Commonwealth Gas for 30
years. He was active in the Hopkinton Lions Club , town politics,and the Boy Scouts.
He enjoyed playing Santa Claus, had a love for his yard and garden and was a longtime
member of the South Shore Model Railway Club.

Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by his children, Janice Dumas
of Revere, John Dumas and his husband James Nowick of CA., Joyce Cormier
and her husband Paul of Palmer, Judith Brown and her husband David of
Southbridge, Joseph Dumas of Hopkinton ;his 7 cherished grandchildren, James, Heather
Paul, Zakaria, Joseph, David, and Nathan. He also leaves behind his siblings; George Dumas, Joan
Comeau, Jean Arseneau, Marilyn Hayward, and Barbara Dumas, and several neices and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son, James Dumas Jr., 2 siblings, Robert Dumas and Victoria Stone.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2-5p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St.

14th at 11:00a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church of Hopkinton. Burial
will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute,
