Holliston-

James J. Dolliver, 75, of Holliston, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Wayside Hospice in Wayland after a courageous battle with cancer. He wanted to express his most sincere gratitude for the exceptional care he received at Metrowest Hematology and Oncology. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Mary (Brown) and Paul Dolliver. He was the husband of Kathleen (Curran) Dolliver of Holliston for 46 years.

A graduate with honors of Northeastern University, James was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War. Serving in Okinawa, from 1961-1967. He later became a driving safety professional of more than 40 years, working for several prominent companies, continuing in retirement teaching people with physical disabilities how to drive modified vehicles. He also worked tirelessly for 20 years to raise money for St Jude’s Hospital through driver safety competition.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Amy Olsen, Michael Dolliver, Matthew Dolliver and his wife Diana, and Stephanie Dolliver. He also leaves behind his siblings, Peter, Paula and Maryann ; as well as 3 grandchildren, Zoey, Alden, and Owen and his sister-in-law, Marybeth Curran.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5th from 5:00-7:00p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, April 6th at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or donations, you preform something nice for yourself or those you care about, in James’ memory.
