Holliston

James A. Nicosia, 52 , of Holliston for 13 years died Monday, July 11, 2005 at U-Mass Memorial Belmont Avenue in Worcester. Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Anthony J. who passed away May 2003 and Yolanda R. (DeToma) Nicosia who passed away March 2005.

A kidney dialysis survivor for 28 years, James had received an award from Blackstone Valley Dialysis for 25 years of dialysis. He was a member of the Kidney Transplant/ Dialysis Association. He worked for many years with his father and uncles in the family business -Sumner bakery in Quincy. He has also worked with his brother in law in at Ahronian Landscape of Holliston and more recently worked for Apollo Security. James enjoyed scratch tickets, casinos and playing a good game of cards with his family. Known to many as Uncle Jimmy he was also a deep thinker, caring son, family orientated and enjoyed talking with everyone.
He is survived by a sister Linda Ahronian and her husband Mark of Holliston, nieces; Gina and Amber, nephew David, great niece Madelyn, 3 uncles; Angelo DeToma of Holliston, Nicholas DeToma of Milford, and Vincent Nicosia of Quincy, 2 Aunts; Jennie Sardina of South Weymouth and Nancy Nicosia of Braintree, a godson Michael Kokoiadis, cousin and roommate Mark DeToma and several other cousins.

Visitation hours will be held Thursday morning July 14, 2005 from 9 – 930 am at the Chesmore Funeral Home 854 Washington St. (Rt. 126) Holliston. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston at 10:00 am Friday following the visitation. Cremation will follow. Donations in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Massachusetts, 11 Vanderbilt Ave., Norwood, MA 02062
