Irma D. MacLeod, 94, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Bolton Manor
in Marlborough. She was the wife of the late John H. MacLeod who died in 1964.Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Dexter and Margaret(MacDonald) Tucker.
Mrs. MacLeod had been a resident of Framingham, living in the same house
that she had been born in, until moving to Hopkinton in 1987. She was a graduate of Framingham High School class of 1928. She went on to get her
nursing degree from Framingham School of Nursing, class of 1931 and was a
member of their Alumni Association. Mrs. MacLeod had taken care of her
mother for many years, her nursing career spanned 55 years; working for
Framingham Union Hospital and Massachusetts Correctional Institution. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Framingham. Mrs.MacLeod was noted for her knitting abilities.
She is survived by her son; Ian H. MacLeod of Douglas, daughter; Margaret
Hoyt of Hopkinton, brother; Dexter Tucker and his wife Muriel of PA, sister; Astrid Snow of Moultonborough, NH, six grandchildren , 4 great grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Dorothy McGill.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesmore
Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton www.chesmorefuneralhome.com
The Reverend Ernest Bellisle of the
Wesley United Methodist Church of Framingham will officiate. Burial will
follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham. Calling hours will be
Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 7:00
p.m. during calling hours.
