HOPKINTON — Irene A. (Lawrence) Coyle, 86, of Hopkinton and formerly of Providence Place in Holyoke, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Renaissance Manor of Westfield.

She was the wife of James J. Coyle Jr., who died Oct. 3, 2003. They were married 60 years.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Ethel A. (Secord) Lawrence. She was a graduate of Framingham High School and South Middlesex Secretarial School.

Mrs. Coyle worked for the Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Framingham. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Northampton, where she was a eucharistic minister and a member of the Ladies Sodality.

She leaves her children, Patricia A. Fountain and her husband, Stephen, of Milford, James J. Coyle and his wife, Susan, of Lincoln, R.I., John F. Coyle and his wife, Donna, of Easthampton and Midlothian, Va., and Dennis J. Coyle and his wife, Linda, of Clifton Park, N.Y.; a brother, Raymond F. Lawrence and his wife, Jeannette, of Framingham; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Fountain of San Diego, Joshua Fountain of Milford, Caitlin Coyle of Lincoln, R.I., Timothy Coyle of Northampton, Daniel Coyle of Penns Grove, N.J., and Matthew and Megan Coyle of Clifton Park, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late John “Bud” Lawrence.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 6, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church St., Hopkinton.

Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Hopkinton.

There will be no visiting hours.

Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Providence Ministries for the Needy, 51 Hamilton St., P.O. Box 6269, Holyoke, MA 01041.

Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements. Chesmore Funeral Home in Hopkinton is providing funeral services on Monday.
