Holliston-
Henry C. Petersen, 90, of Holliston, passed away Tuesday, September 7,
2010 at Umass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Bedford, he
was the son of the late Ceenius and Elsie (Hendricksen) Petersen. He was
the beloved husband to Virginia (Loughman) Petersen of Holliston.
A 1937 graduate of Lexington High School and a 1939 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Henry was a Bedford, MA native living in Holliston for the past 53 years. He was a precision tool maker for 40
years at Arthur Crafts Co. in Waltham and worked for 25 years at Acumeter and Carbide Specialty. Henry was a sports fan of the Red Sox and Celtics and was a good athlete and golfer. He was an avid backyard gardener and master craftsman. Henry worked until he was 86 years old. His dedication and work ethic were second to none. He was an adored Pop Pop and checker partner to 13 grandchildren.
Besides his wife of 59 years, he was the beloved father to 7 children, Corinne Petersen-Lentoni of Framingham, Eleanor Qualls and her husband Kevin of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and Mary Orcutt and her husband Peter of Beaverton, OR. John Petersen and his wife Jean of Allentown, NJ, Donald Petersen and his wife Ann of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA., William Petersen and his wife Kim of Northbridge, MA., Eric Petersen and his wife Jen of Portland, OR., He also leaves behind his grandchildren, David, James, Kristopher, Michael, Ryan, Casey, Emma, Daniel, Matthew, Jonathon, Hannah, Charlie and Katie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 3-6p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.
