Harvey H. Berman, 85, of Holliston, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ruth (Obelsky) and Philip Berman. He was the husband of 54 years to Paulina (Huertas) Berman.

Harvey was a graduate of NorthEastern University and attended Suffolk Law School for a short time, until he chose to join the Civil Rights Movement. He worked as a union organizer and representative for the AFSCME Council 93 in Boston and retired in 1998. Harvey and his family moved to Holliston in 1976 from Caton street in Mattapan. He loved being a husband and dad and enjoyed fixing up the family home. He loved classical music, enjoyed learning about carpentry, auto repair, science, astronomy and dancing with his wife and taking long walks.

Besides his wife, Harvey is survived by two children, Philip J. Berman of Franklin and Deborah E. Peak and her husband, Stan Gurczak of Grafton as well as his grandchild, Ziggy Peak of Worcester. He also leaves behind two sisters, Shirley Jaffe and Paula Sheff. Harvey will also be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his two longtime friends, Joseph Donnaruma and Henry Qiang.

A private funeral service will be held at Chesmore Funeral Home in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Holliston Trails Inc, PO Box 5986 Holliston, MA 01746.
