Grace (Crosby) Henderson, 81, died Sunday, August 17, 2003 at
the West Roxbury Veteran’s Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Bellingham, MA she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Effie
Crosby of Cape Bretton, Nova Scotia. She was the wife of Kenneth H.
Henderson who died in 1997. They had been married 52 years.
Grace was a veteran of W.W. II and served with the WAVES. She was a
homemaker and worked with her husband as Amway distributors. She was a
resident of Holliston’s Littlefield Tavern since 1963 and formerly of
Hopedale. She was active in Scouting, a nanny for many local families,
active in the Holliston Minuteman Militia, volunteered at the Holliston
Manor Nursing Home, and a member of the First Congregational Church of
Holliston.
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth C. Henderson of Holliston and his wife
Carolynn, Jon E. Henderson of Tyrone, GA, Peter L. Henderson of Moore, ID
and his wife Randi, and her daughter, Laurie Foley of Mackey, ID; 9
grandchildren: K. Derek Henderson, Julie VanWagenen, Christa Greener,
Nathan, Seth and PFC. Jarred Henderson, Samuel Henderson and Jenny Roers and
Matt Clauson; and one great-grandson, Michael Jo Henderson. She leaves many
close friends. She was the sister to the late Ralph Crosby of CA and Marion
Papineau of Hopedale.
A memorial service honoring Grace’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m.,
Saturday, August 23 at the First Congregational Church, 725 Washington St.,
Holliston. Rev. Jack Lynes and Rev. Andrea Castner-Wyatt will officiate.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Visitation hours will be a the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St.,
Route 16, Holliston from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. of Friday, August 22.
