Gladys I. Morse, 94, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, after a period of declining health. She was born in 1914 to Grace E. (Andrews) and Herbert A. Chambers, former Holliston Fire Chief. Gladys was the widow of Frederick R. Morse, who died in 1960. She leaves two daughters, Sybil Long and her husband, John, of Hopkinton, and Johanna Lennox and her husband, Donald, of Holliston. Gladys is survived by three sisters, Dorothea J. Cox of Florida, Merle A. Marshall of Holliston, and Edna M. Charles of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by two brothers, Perley R. and Dale H. Chambers, and one sister, Jean L. Chambers. She was the caring aunt of many special nieces and nephews and their families. Mrs. Morse was the beloved grandmother of Carol John and her husband, Savas, of Franklin, Joan Gorman and her husband, William, of Hopkinton, John Jr. (Jack) Long of Worcester, Jeffrey Long and his wife, Michelle, of Hopedale, James Long and his wife, Deborah, of Tennessee, Brandy Hamm and her husband, Douglas, of New York, and Raymond Sanders of Holliston. Grammie loved visiting with her eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Fuer and his wife, Krystal, Amy (Gorman) Cloutier and her husband, Jason, Matthew, Laura and Colleen Gorman, and Chelsea and Nicole Long and Jessica Bailey Long. A private family memorial service will take place at the First Congregational Church, Holliston, with Rev. Dr. David Fountain officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
