Fujiko “Suzi” Suzuki Clark, 93, of Holliston, passed away at her home on Monday, September 2, 2024. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Aiko (Takada) and Eizo Suzuki. She was the wife of the late Ernest W. Clark Jr.

Suzi is best known for owning “Suzi’s Bridal Shop“ in Holliston, Massachusetts for over 25 years. Her claim to fame was spending time getting to know her customers and choosing the exact bridal gown they were looking for.

Suzi was born in Tokyo, Japan, and met her husband, Ernie, at a medical lab facility. They were married in Japan and came to this country in 1957, residing in Holliston, in what she called, “the best neighborhood ever,” on Cold Spring Road. Fujiko was a homemaker to her three boys, Bobby, Ricky, and Tommy. She taught sewing lessons and repaired customers’ clothing. Hems cost $.25!  Fujiko received many certificates from the Girl Scouts and Holliston Elementary School among other organizations for volunteering. She was part of the garden club, teaching  “Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging.

As soon as the “three monkeys“, as she lovingly called them, graduated high school, she bought her bridal shop on Washington Street. She had such intense apparent love for her Family, neighbors, and customers. She loved meeting new friends. Suzi was very active for 93 years, living independently at home. Fujiko Clark was a pioneer of many Japanese women living in this country.  No matter where she went, she was the life of the party!

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Holliston Congregational Church.
