HOLLISTON — Frederick Walter Erich, 88, of Holliston, died at home Sunday, March 12, 2006, surrounded by family.

He was the husband of the late Carolyn (Poucher).

Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Wilhelmina (Timmerman) and Frederick Erich. He attended Duke University and was the president of the Drama Club.

Mr. Erich was a past member of the Masons and the Elks. He served as a lieutenant and navigator in the Air Corps during World War II.

He was an avid woodworker and gardener, and a loving father and grandfather. He loved his dog, Precious.

He leaves two sons, Thomas W. Erich and his wife, Diane, of Holliston, and Peter C. and his wife, Michelle, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; a son-in-law, John Katlinger; 12 grandchildren, Cliff, Tara, Cliff, Kendra, Leslie, Holly, Sarah, Alison, Scott, Joshua, Matthew and Blair; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Chandler, Bryce and Breanna.

He was the father of the late Robert “Bobby” Erich and Lynne Katinger.

There will be no funeral services.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life with the family on Wednesday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the family’s home, at 36 Birchwood Road, Holliston.

Instead of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130; or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701; or Metrowest Hospice, 99 Lincoln St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
