Francis A. Diani, 83, of Holliston, died peacefully Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham surrounded by his family. Born in Holliston, he was the son of the late Francis and Lena (Paccioretti) Diani. He was the husband to Ada M. (Rovedo) Diani of Holliston since 1948.

A lifelong (Braggville) Holliston resident, he was a firefighter on Engine 4 of the Holliston Fire Department. A WWII Army Veteran, he was the past commander for the Holliston VFW Post 8507; a member of the American Legion as well as a Mason. Before retiring, he was employed by Tennessee Gas Pipeline (Tenneco) for 35 years. He loved life, especially dancing with his wife, camping, wintering in Florida and sharing good times with family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Karen E. Paul and her husband Stephen of Waquoit, MA.; Joan F. Diani-Kampersal and her husband George Jr. of Hopedale; a brother, Joseph Diani of CT.; 1 sister, Anita Thompson of Georgia, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Francis J. Diani and sister, Pauline Damigella.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 10:30a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston follow by burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Shriner’s Burn Unit, 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA 02114 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA. 01701.
