Frances Catherine “Katy” (Malone) Valpey, age 73 of Dover,NH passed away at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover on January 2, 2012. Katy was born on June 6, 1938 in Newton, MA the daughter of Francis Malone and Elizabeth “Molly” (Breen) Malone. She was raised and educated in Needham and had graduated from Needham High School.

Katy loved her home and family gatherings, her rose garden and creating floral arrangements, boating on the “Sunstone”, interior decorating, cooking and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ted Valpey Jr. and their best friend, “Whistle” of Dover. Daughters, Jennifer Greymont and husband Alfred of New Durham, NH and Jill Savignano and husband John of Hopkinton, MA. Son, James Walsh of Millis, MA. Her pre-deceased son, Jeffrey John Walsh and his surviving wife, Gladys of Needham, MA. Her step children, Ted Valpey III and wife, Debbie of Holliston, MA, Susan Chick and husband, Stephen of Holliston, MA, Sandra Cordts and husband, Alan of Falmouth, MA, John Valpey and wife, Susan of Lincoln, MA and Jessica Evers and husband, Greg of Medway, MA. Brother, Jack Malone and wife, Dale of Needham, MA. She also leaves several loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great-grandson. Katy is also pre-deceased by her brother, William F. Malone and her sister, Marcia Malone-Foley.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Thursday January 5, 2012 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Bayview Farm, 39 Bayview Road in Dover, NH. Graveside services will take place on Friday January 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Lake Grove Cemetery on Highland Street in Holliston, MA.
