Edwin Darrel Hamlet, 98, of Holliston, passed away October 17, 2015.
Born in Holliston, he was the son of the late Mary (Noyes) and Wilbur A.
Hamlet. He was the husband of 77 years to the late Catherine “Kay”
(Demers) Hamlet who passed away in October, 2013.

A lifelong Holliston resident, Edwin was a second generation owner of
Hamlet and Son Painting. Formally, he was a foreman at Goodwill Shoe Company for
15 years. Ed was a student at the School of Practical Art in Boston for four years during the early 1950s. Later, he studied locally for a number of years, and was well- known for his landscapes and seascapes, created from his own ideas. He continued his artwork his entire life and was happy doing so with every stroke of his brush.

He is survived by two children, Shirley Chipman of Holliston and Edwin
Hamlet and his wife Susan of Ohio; a daughter in law, Annette Hamlet; as
well as 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son, Darrel E. Hamlet who passed away in 2012; 3 siblings, William and Charles Hamlet and Madelene LaRosa, and his son in law, Thomas Chipman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st from 4-7p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.

Thursday, October 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston.
Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to Holliston Senior Center, 150 Goulding
