Dr. John Melling, 66, of Hopkinton, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Born in Connecticut, he was the son of the late Frances and George Melling. He was the husband of Alicia Melling.

Dr. Melling ran a thriving orthodontic practice for several decades and truly enjoyed the communities and families that became such an important part of his life.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Meredith Melling and her fiance Zachary Iscol of New York City, Chris Melling and his wife Melissa of Brooklyn, NY; 3 step-children, Gaspar, Nicolas, and, Austin Barmak all of Buenos Aires; a brother, Paul Melling and his wife Yvette of Colchester, CT; two sisters, Leslie Meyer and her husband Robert of Chicago, and Louise Melling of NYC. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, August 2nd at 1:00PM at the the Sherborn Inn located at 33 North Main Street in Sherborn, MA. Donations in his memory may be made to Make a Wish Foundation. Arrangements are under the care of ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
