Hopkinton –
Dr. Albert Di Pietro died Feb. 3, 2003 at Milford Whitinsville Hospital
in Milford ,MA after a long period illness. He was 85 years old. Born in
Fitchburg MA the only son of Antonio and Frances Di Pietro. Brother to Rose
Holmes of San Diego, CA; Angeline Dudley of Parish, FL; Josephine D’Amico
and Margaret Adams of Groton,CT and the late Nellie Flores of Mystic, CT.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Anna ;son Alan Di Pietro and
daughter in law Ella Jean Di Pietro of Hopkinton, his three grandchildren Michael and
Ayssa Di Pietro and John Dwyer. His sister-in-law Gloria Martini of
Brooklyn,NY. His nieces and nephews: Amelia Tranchilda, Mark Flores, Sandra
Holmes, Roseanne Flores, Sheila Weatherbee, Sheri Adams, Debbie Apicelli,
David Adams, Wendell Thomas and Lyn Miletich.

Dr. Di Pietro, a long time resident of Saratoga Springs, NY, was enlisted
in the Army as a Master Sargent for twenty years, serving his country in
both the Korean and World War II before he retired from duty. As a
distinguished war veteran he saw action in Algeria, French Morocco, Sicily
,Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Tunisia. He was decorated with
the Bronze Star Medal for his service on the Normandy beaches.

After that he worked for the State of NY as a supervising dietician in
upstate NY for 20 years before retiring.
He later attended Layfayette University and in the 1987 he received his
doctorate from Pratt University

Dr. Di Pietro was an avid sports fan and was often found along the side
lines of many sports fields. A.K.a “The Boss” he will be sorely missed but
not forgotten by all that knew him for his sense of humor and good nature.

A mass of Christian burial will b celebrated Friday, Feb. 7 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Hopkinton. Burial in Saratoga springs, NY will be Monday Feb. 17th at St. Peters Cemetery.
Calling hours, at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton will be Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
