Holliston – Dorothy Robbins, 93, died Nov. 24, 2004 at the Roberts Health
Care Center in Rhode Island.
She was the wife of the late Ronald Robbins.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary
(MacRae) Wright.
Mrs. Robbins and her husband lived in Holliston for most of their married
life, where together they operated a poultry and vegetable farm on Central
Street.
For the past eight years Mrs. Robbins had been residing at Milford Meadows
Care Center and the Roberts Health Center in North Kingstown, RI.
She was a woman devoted to her family, her community and her church. A
member of the First Congregational Church of Holliston, she was active in
many church activities. She served as a girl scout leader, a trustee for the
Holliston Public Library and an active member of the Holliston Senior Center.
Her interests included both the braiding and hooking of rugs, fishing, knitting,
playing bridge and baking.
She leaves three children, Mary McHeffey of Poway, California; Frances
Quinlan of North Kingstown, RI; and David Robbins of Hartwell, Georgia.
She also leaves five grandchildren, Robin St. Louis, Diane McHeffey, Robert
McHeffey, Scott Robbins and Lance Robbins. In addition, she leaves nine
great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m. at
the family lot in Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854
Washington St., Holliston.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to either the Senior
Support Foundation, 150 Goulding St., Holliston, MA 01746 or to the
Salvation Army, 35 Concord St., Framingham, MA 01702.
