Dorothy Isaacson, 88, of Westborough, MA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 2, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Hymes. She was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late Eli Isaacson who passed away in 2000.
Dorothy and her husband Eli raised their family in Linden, NJ. She also lived in Monroe Township, NJ in her retirement and most recently was a resident of the Willows in Westborough, MA. She graduated from Kean College with a teaching degree and taught early reading development in the Linden School System. She was an active member of the Linden PTA and was elected PTA President in the 1960s. She was an avid reader, loved to knit, play tennis, swim, cross country ski and travel. She had visited numerous countries in five continents during her travels with friends and family. Dorothy was an inspiration to all whose lives she touched and always looked for the positive in people.
She leaves behind 3 children, Richard Isaacson and his wife Tanya of Holliston, MA, Iris Goldberg and her husband Alan of Milwaukee, WI and Nancy Isaacson of Redondo Beach, CA. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Meredith Goldberg and her husband PJ Murrill, Joshua Isaacson, Justin Isaacson and Olivia Isaacson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Daniel Isaacson, her nieces, nephews, great nephews and many other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her sister Nora Greenblatt and was the sister-in-law of the late Vivienne Isaacson.
