Dorothy “Dottie” Roberta Snow, 84, of Holliston, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. Dottie endured a 17 year battle with cancer. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Esther R.(Flint) and Lyle W. Orton. She was the wife of 62 years to George “Dave” Snow of Holliston.
A 1949 graduate of Holliston High School, Dottie had been an assistant director of Camp Featherfin (Holliston Girl Scouts). In the late fifties, Dottie and Dave led the youth activities at the First Baptist Church in Holliston and were also presidents of the Kum Double Club, She was also a past president of the VFW Post 8507 Ladies Auxiliary. Dottie was a hairdresser for over 50 years for the Chesmore Funeral Homes. She was a loving and caring mother who always put her family first. She was an avid gardener who transformed her yard into a flowering oasis. She lived her “Dash” with love, caring and generosity for mankind and her furry and feathered friends. Dottie was married to Clarence Kramer from 1951-1952 until his passing in a vehicle accident. In 1953, she married George.
She leaves behind her children, Jeffrey C. Snow and his wife Julie of Holliston, Craig J. Snow and his wife Virginia of FL, Heidi R. Snow, Dorothy J. “Dodie” Neumann, and George Robert “Bobby” Snow all of Holliston. She also leaves behind her sister, Hester Chesmore of Holliston; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Robert, Stephen, Tyler; 2 great-grandchildren, Jameson and Charlotte as well as her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12th from 4-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A celebration of life and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holliston Food Pantry, 23 Water St. Holliston, MA 01746 or Holliston Girl Scouts, c/o Sheri Clyde, 190 Oak St. in Holliston.
