Hopkinton – Doris G. Irvine, 75, died July 20, 2006 at her home
following a long illness.
She was the wife of Joseph F. Irvine for 35 years and enjoyed a
wonderful marriage.
Born in Rickford, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Albert and
Bernice (Childe) Wright.
Mrs. Irvine was the vice-president and co-owner of J. C. Parmenter.
A resident of Hopkinton for 52 years, she had been a member of the First
Congregation Church of Hopkinton and had been a member of the choir, Joy
Fellowship and the Women’s Fellowship. She had enjoyed extensive travel
throughout the country.
Beside her husband, she is survived by her children, Mark Lumbra of
Charlton, Joseph F. Irvine, Jr. of Hopkinton, Carol Nelson of Milford,
Susan Costanza and her husband, Pete, of Hopkinton and Ann Sellew and
her husband, Brent, of Charlton; her sister, Grace Stetson of Andover,
NH; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Dana Wright and Marion Benjamin.
The funeral service will be held Monday, July 24 at 9:00 a.m. at the
First Congregational Church, 146 East Main Street, Hopkinton. The
Reverend Ernest Batten will officiate. Burial will follow in the family
lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Woodville.
Calling hours, at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe Street,
Hopkinton www.chesmorefuneralhome.com, will be Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
