Donald E. Fresh Jr., of Putnam, CT, died peacefully on August 6, 2022 at Webster Manor in Webster, MA. Buddy, as he was known to all, spent his final hours surrounded by loved ones.

Buddy was born in Franklin, NH, to the late Donald and Mary (Tilton) Fresh. His family moved to Franklin, MA, when Buddy was still young and he remained there until he left to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Army. After being honorably discharged in 1963, Buddy began his long career working in retail. He met his future wife, Maxine (Fournier), at Stop and Shop and they were married for 35 years, until she passed away in 2001.

Buddy is survived by his five children, Michael and his wife Holly, Michelle Ryan, Dawn Creonte and her husband Bill, Bobby and his wife Skye, and Kerri Hill and her husband, Shawn. He leaves behind his 15 grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life, Kristina, Taryn, Dustin, Lauren, Bethany, Brianna, Hannah, Cheyenne, Joseph, Will, Emily, Janet, Micheal, Max, and Jimmy, as well as five great grandsons, Dustin Jr., Noah, Eli, Abel, and Neelix.

In addition, Buddy is survived by his sister Barbara, his brother John and his wife Murial, many nieces and nephews, as well as his longtime friends, Bucky, Bob, and Joe.

Buddy was a guy who loved life. He enjoyed a good card game, going to the casino and in his youth, golfing, boating and skiing. Later in life, Buddy renewed his passion for fishing. He loved nothing more than being on the lake with his sons and grandchildren. When he was no longer able to fish, sharing memories about fishing would bring the biggest smile to his face.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16th, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM. Burial will take place after the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis, MA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Buddy’s honor to Wounded Warriors Project.
