Diane L. Curtiss, 67, of Holliston, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Milford Regional Medical Center following brief treatment of advanced breast cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Reed) and Lawrence Maistros. She was the wife of 18 years to the late Jonathan P. Curtiss, before he passed in 2011.
Diane loved puzzles, playing sudoku, gardening, listening to podcasts, and learning new things. Most importantly, Diane loved her family and passing her wisdom on to her son and daughter.
Diane graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s in economics. Between the births of her son and daughter, the family moved to Massachusetts, settling in Holliston. Early into her children’s lives, she decided to become a homemaker and loved the time she was able to spend with her family, prior to which she excelled at various jobs including management of a medical device company (where she met Jonathan), property management, and more. She was always involved in her children’s schooling, extracurricular activities, and friend groups. Diane found a new appreciation for New England after moving here, hugely enjoying the local beaches, such as Hampton Beach, Cape Cod, and Westerly, RI. While she did not deeply involve herself with the local community, Diane had a great appreciation for Holliston and all it has to offer.
Diane is survived by her two children, Tanner L. Curtiss and Lauren M. Curtiss; her siblings, Don Maistros, Deb (Maistros) Kalmbaugh, Larry Maistros, and her sister-in-law, Stacey Bown.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 11th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A private family burial will follow the next day at the family’s plot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/.
