Dexter C. Laumeister, 92, of Holliston, passed away at home surrounded by his two sons on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of the late Gertrude (Hill) and Carl Laumeister. He was the husband of the late Mary Lou (Wagner) Laumeister.

Dexter was a Veteran of the Air Force, having served as a Medic during the Korean War. Throughout his time in the Air Force, he was a member of the Air Force Baseball team. He worked at the Glidden Paint Company for 35 years.

Dexter had a passion for building, woodworking, and yard work. He took great pride in his ability to create and maintain, whether it was a home project or helping out around the neighborhood. His love for golf was another important part of his life. Dexter spent many hours on the course, enjoying both the challenge of the game and the camaraderie of friends. He also enjoyed visits to the coffee shop, where he loved chatting with friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Phyllis “Dilla” Long for her loving care and support as Dexter’s caregiver. Her compassion and dedication were truly a blessing.

Dexter is survived by his children: Thomas Laumeister and his wife, Donna, of Hopedale, Joanne Telfer and her husband, Edward, of Florida, and Mark Laumeister and his wife, Denise, of Hopedale. He also leaves behind his siblings, Beverly Snyder and Donnie Laumeister and his wife, Linda, all of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren: Eric, Heather (Bryan), Zachary (Katie), Ethan (Becky), Noelle (Jeff), and Alexander (Gina); as well as three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Chasen, and Waylon.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. In lieu of flowers, Dexter’s wish is for everyone to go home and be kind to someone.
