Uxbridge –

Denise Crosby, 71, formerly of Upton, passed away November 12, 2018. A stage four cancer survivor, she waged a heroic 20 year struggle with the after effects of radiation treatment. She endured this with grace and courage and was an inspiration to all who knew her. During this period, she was rewarded by being allowed to focus on her eight grandchildren.

Denise graduated from Medway High School, Class of 1965, and the Tri County Hair Dressing School.

Born in Needham on October 20, 1947, she was the daughter of Joseph Marchand and Mildred Geyer. She was the second youngest of eight children. She worked as an attendant at Wrentham State School and loved to bring young patients to her home for holidays. A long time Upton resident, she was active in CCD and worked as a part time crossing guard and hair dresser. She greatly enjoyed raising her family in the Hazeltine neighborhood.

She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, James Crosby of Uxbridge, four children: Lynn Johnson and her husband, William of Northbridge, James Crosby and his wife, Carolyn of Northbridge, Erin Lee and her husband, Josh of Worcester and Kelley Crosby of Uxbridge. Eight grandchildren Michael, AJ, Nick, Melissa, Julia, Dexter, Matthew, and Kaelyn.

Besides her grandchildren, celebrating holidays was her passion, especially Halloween. She was also a serious and ardent collector of Yankee candles, knick knacks and random items. Though greatly missed, we take solace in that she is at peace with a perfect new body.

Arrangements are being held privately and are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
