Holliston-
Denis Francis O’Leary, 90, of Holliston, MA, passed away peacefully to eternal life with our Lord on December 2, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Holliston. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chesmore Funeral Home.

Denis was born in Glasgow, Scotland and grew up on Clare Island, County Mayo, Ireland. Denis was married to Anne Louise O’Leary (Hanagan) of Natick (predeceased on 07/26/11); they were married for 60 years. Denis retired from Commonwealth Gas (now NStar) after 37 years. Denis was an accomplished craftsman; he loved carpentry, painting, vegetable gardening, and could build or repair anything. He loved fishing and the ocean on family vacations to Cape Neddick, ME; Clare Island; and Cape Cod. He was a true gentleman; a strong, hard working, religious man who would offer help to anyone who needed it on a moment’s notice. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who would do anything for his family, a great example to his sons.

Denis is survived by his two sons: Dennis M. O’Leary and his wife Gina of Atlanta, GA and William J. O’Leary and his wife Judy of Brookline; his two grandchildren: Nicholas O’Leary and his wife Allie, and Cory Worley; his two great grandchildren: Skylar O’Leary and Lexi O’Leary; his two sisters, Maureen O’Leary of Clare Island and Nora Fitzgerald of London; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his dear family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. The family of Denis O’Leary wishes to thank the wonderful staffs at River Bay Club, Quincy, MA and Colonial Nursing, Weymouth, MA for their unyielding love and care given to our dad every day.
