Deirdre “Dee” Meloski, loving wife, mother and devoted teacher, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at her home in Medway surrounded by her family.Dee was born in Norwood, Massachusetts to John and Mary Walsh Burns of Dedham.

Dee was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Emmanuel College. She married John “Pete” Meloski on July 28th, 1974.

Dee was completing her 40th year as a history teacher, 39 of those years in the Dedham Public school system. She spent the majority of her tenure teaching grades 9-12 and several different disciplines. In more recent years she focused on her favorite; US History. Dee loved meals out with family, socializing with friends and fellow teachers, vacationing on Cape Cod and shopping for a good bargain.

She is survived by her husband, John P. Meloski Jr., her son, Michael Meloski and his wife, Marisa; her daughter, Caitlin Meloski, as well as her sisters, Sheila Magliaro and her husband Allen Magliaro, Eileen Burns and Patricia Hernandez; her brother, John Burns and his wife, Kathy Burns; her aunt, Ruth Walsh and loving and supportive colleagues and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25th from 3:30 pm-7:00p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home (www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com) 854 Washington St, Holliston. A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 8 Church St., Holliston. A luncheon and celebration of Dee’s life will immediately follow at Restaurant 45, 45 Milford St, Medway. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Dee’s memory can be made to the: Deirdre Meloski Memorial Scholarship, 2 Diane Dr, Medway, MA 02053.
