Bellingham-

David Alan Rice, 75, of Bellingham, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Ruth (Ingalls) and Clyde Rice.

David was a 1963 graduate of Bellingham High School. He then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Dean College in Franklin. Before his retirement, he was an employee at Newport/Thermo Gerolach in Franklin. where he was once an Employee of the Month. He taught Sunday school with his brother-in-law, Greg, and was involved with recording Tape ministry as well as being a Sunday school coordinator. For a brief time, he was a bass player for the singing group, “New Song” as well as a member of his mother’s church choir, and a few other voluntary jobs all at  Faith Community Church in Hopkinton. He was a big movie buff who loved playing video games and loved the band, Queen. He was an excellent chess player and most importantly he loved his nieces and nephews.

David is survived by his brother-in-law, Gregory Titus of Woonsocket, RI; his nephews, Eric Titus of Bellingham, Andrew Titus and his wife, Katie of Smithfield, RI, Cherie Svannson and her husband, Jeffrey and Holly Titus all of Woonsocket; grand-nieces, Anne-Marie, Claire, Cecilia, and Felicity Dancause. He is predeceased by his sister, Janet E. Titus, who passed away on September 6, 2021.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Community Church, 146 E. Main St. Hopkinton, MA 01748.
