David A. Henshaw, 71, of Leominster, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Frances Henshaw and Alvin Robinson. David attended Bowdoin College then joined the Peace Corps, serving in Lima, Peru from 1964-66, where he met his late wife, June Marilyn (Carter) Henshaw. Their married life took them to upstate New York, Frankfurt, Germany, where he served in the Army during Vietnam, Manchester, England, where he received a Masters in Theatre, Newport News, Virginia, and Baumholder, Germany before settling in Massachusetts. He worked as theatre director for the Department of Defense for over 20 years before starting his second career as an educator; teaching theatre, creative writing, speech and Spanish courses at Fisher College and Mount Wachusett Community College. Throughout his life, he and his wife were active in community theatre, most recently with Barre Players, both acting and directing, and won several awards for set design and lighting.

He leaves behind three children, Jeanette Henshaw of Taos, NM, Margaret Burchard and her husband William of Hopkinton and Christopher Henshaw and Allison Haney of Taos, NM, and four grandchildren, Ella, Colin, Samka and Sean, with another grandchild due in February.

Memorial Services will be held on ___________ at Christ Church of Fitchburg. Donations in lieu of
