Holliston-

Daniel Aloysius Miley, 77, of Holliston, died at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2007. Born in Vermont, he was the son of the late Daniel and Alice (DePaoli) Miley. He was the husband of Margaret Miley of Holliston.

A 40 year resident of Holliston, he retired as a Senior Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of John Hancock Advisers in 1987 after 28 years with the company. He was a 1954 graduate from Boston College and was actively involved in the Alumni Association for many years, including serving as his Class Chairman for the Alumni Association. He was actively involved in Holliston town politics and held elected offices for 22 consecutive years, including serving as the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, the Finance Committee and the Board of Assessors. He was actively involved in Republican politics, including having been elected the Republican State Committeeman for our state district, having served as Chairman of the Holliston Republican Town Committee and having served as the campaign manager for state representative Andrew Natsios’ six successful campaigns for the Massachusetts Legislature. He was actively involved in St. Mary’s Church for 40 years, the Holliston Lions’ Club for close to 30 years, including serving as King Lion and receiving the Melvyn Jones award, and was a veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War.

Besides his wife Margaret ( Cahill) Miley to whom he was married for 52 years, he leaves 1 son, Robert A. Miley and his wife Kelly of Avon, CT., 3 daughters, Mary J. Miley and Jeanne M. Miley both of Holliston and Stephanie A. Miley and her husband Kurt Beurmann of Alexandria, VA. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, John Patrick Miley, Colin Daniel Miley of Avon, CT., a cousin Theresa DePaoli, a sister in law Anita Cahill, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will take place on Friday, March 9, from 4:00-7:00p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16). www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, March 10, at 10:00a.m. from St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Holliston.
