Holliston-

Dan C. Turner, 88, of Holliston, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Dan Chester and Daisy (Bray) Turner. He was the husband of Virginia “June” Thombs whom he was married to for 66 years.

A lifelong Holliston resident, he was a self employed machinist and later worked for HG Cockrill in Holliston until Nov. at the age of 88. He had been the treasurer for the Endowment Committee for almost 30 years. An Army veteran, he was in the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers and served in Germany during WWII. He was part of the 82nd Airborne group at Natick VFW.

He is survived by 1 son, Jim Turner and his wife Jennifer of Sherborn, 3 daughters, Norma Frey and her Husband Ron of IL., Robin Natanel and Susan Turner both of Holliston; a brother, Fred Turner of Washington and 9 grandchildren, Kelley, Karen, Lindsey, Jonathan, Brian, Beverly, Jay, Emily, Caitlin. He also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren and his late son’s wife, Susan G. Turner of Ashland. He is predeceased by his son, Dan Turner who passed in 2000, a grandson, Keith who passed in 1991 and 4 brothers, John, David, Rodney and Pearly Turner.

Burial services will be held on Tuesday, March 31st at 10:00a.m. at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
