Holliston-

Clare M. Galvin Burke, 80, formerly of Holliston, Roslindale and Cape Cod, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Mullen) and Daniel Galvin. She was the wife of the late Donald Burke and LeRoy Gorham.

Clare was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame and received her Nursing Degree from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston. She was a nurse at St. Patrick’s in Framingham as well as in Boston and at Newton Wellesley. She was the Director of Nursing at Pilgrim’s Pride in Mashpee, Minister to the Sick, and a Hospice Volunteer. She also taught CCD and was a Girl Scout leader. Clare will be remembered for her selflessness and kindness to others.

She is survived by her four daughters, Kathleen Rogers and her husband Robert of Milford, Amy McGrath and her husband Stephen of Centerville, Paula Burke Gaucherin and her husband Benoit of West Roxbury, and Maureen McVay and her husband William of Deltona, FL. She also leaves behind two brothers, Richard Galvin and his wife Barbara of Halifax, William Galvin and his wife Mildred of Westwood; her sister-in-law, Barbara Galvin of CT; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and her dear life-long friend, Adrienne Beaton. She is predeceased by her brothers, Robert Galvin and Daniel Galvin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13th from 9:00a.m.-10:30a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated following visitation at 11:00a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will take place at 2:00p.m. in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472 or Alz.org
