Christopher C. Alden, 64, of Northbridge, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (McManus) and Dr. John Alden. He was the husband of Tracey Alden and father of Carly Alden-Pickett.

Chris grew up in Needham and then Hopedale in his younger years and moved to both Uxbridge and Hopedale with his wife and daughter. He graduated from Blackstone Valley Technical High School in 1977 from the Plumbing and Heating program. He was a skilled Master Plumber, renowned for his ability to fix anything with his expert craftsmanship. He would make sure people knew that if you could not do it right then do not do it at all. He was a great cook known for his imaginative recipes and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He cherished his time at Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam where he found peace fishing on his boat. Chris enjoyed playing Keno or watching the Patriots over a Bud Light with friends. His pride and joy was centered on his daughter, Carly, whom he supported wholeheartedly in her pursuits, always attending her extracurricular activities with enthusiasm and begrudgingly ended up loving the many pets she would bring home.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Carly Alden-Pickett and her husband, Nicholas; his wife Tracey (Colcord) Alden; and his 7 siblings, Elizabeth Mazzarelli and her husband, Joseph, John Alden, Edward Alden, Stephen Alden and his wife, Marietta, Martha LeRoy and her husband, Marc, Peter Alden and his wife Bonnie, and Susan Alden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his favorite cat Al and is now reunited with his beloved German Shepherd Zack.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 10:00am at Hopedale Union Evangelical Church, 25 Dutcher St. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Fitzgerald Dr. Hopedale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber who helped Christopher reach his end-of-life goal to walk his daughter down the aisle. His daughter is walking the Boston Marathon route this fall for the Jimmy Fund on his behalf to support future families whose loved ones are diagnosed with cancer.
