Hopkinton-

Charles S. Kane, 67, of Hopkinton, died Friday, June 29, 2006 at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham. Born in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Doris (Slade) Kane. He was the husband of Susan (Vachout) Kane of Hopkinton for 36 years.

A Hopkinton resident for the past 38 years, he was active with the Boy Scouts, Seniors, and the New England Seafarers Mission. He was a former AMC Member and a longtime employee for Eastern Mountain Sports. He had a passion for the outdoors and photography.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Jeffrey Kane of Manchester, NH, a daughter, Lisa Soo Kane of Framingham, a brother, John Kane and his wife Carol of Pittsburgh, PA., and 3 step-sisters, Barbara Namon, Carol Malt, and Margaret Holtman.

Visitation hours will be on Sunday, July 2, from 3-6p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. 57 Hayden Rowe St. www.chesmorefuneralhome.com Funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. from the Christ Lutheran Church of Natick, 113 Union St. (Near Natick Hospital).
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Hopkinton (Rt. 135). Donations in his memory may be made to, New England Seafarers Mission, 1 Black Falcon Ave., Boston, MA 02210
