Charles (“Charlie”) Robert Coles, 93, of Holliston, passed away in Alpharetta, Georgia on Monday, July 25, 2022. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Margaret (Hyland) Coles and James A. Coles. He was married for 48 years to the late Frances M. (Griffin) Coles. After a long career as an engineer at Natick Labs, Charlie retired in 1989.

Charlie’s abundant kindness and generosity towards everyone he met was an inspiration to his family and friends. He will be remembered fondly for being an incredibly devoted husband, wonderful uncle, selfless neighbor, and loyal friend. Charlie was an active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Holliston where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. He loved helping and being involved in the Holliston Senior Center and the Springfield Motorcycle Club.

Charlie is survived by his nieces and nephews, Elisabeth, Matthew, Margaret, Charles, James, Patricia, and Abigail; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, James J. Coles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston followed by burial in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Arnold Rd. Sturbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holliston Senior Center, 150 Goulding St. Holliston, MA 01746.
