Holliston – Charles R. Boyle, 71, died Saturday, December 11, 2004 at his home.
He was the husband of the late Shirley (Williams) Boyle.
Born in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Rassetto). He was a resident of the Boston area for most of his life and a long-standing member of the Boston Musicians’ Union. After music studies at Ithaca College in NY and at Boston College, his career as a violinist flourished first with the St. Louis Symphony and then on tour with the Boris Goldovsky Opera Institute. In 1967 he married Shirley, a fellow violinist, and they settled in Holliston, MA. Mr. Boyle subsequently taught music in the Westborough public school system, while freelancing together with his wife on the Boston concert scene. His skill, patience and humor have been greatly appreciated by several generations of students.
Mr. Boyle is survived by one daughter, Catherine, currently residing in Rome, Italy, and a sister Barbara in Burbank, CA.
A memorial service will be held on December 18th at noon at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., Route 16, Holliston.
