Charles Gerard Ferris

Charles was the son of Frances (Gokey) and retired Henniger High school
teacher the late George R. Ferris. He died suddenly of heart failure
Tuesday in Holliston, Ma. A 1974 graduate of C.B.A. He was a standout
student athlete excelling in football and track. After graduation he
served 4 years in the US Army. He then joined the Mass. National Guard
graduated from UMass, Boston. He served full time in the Guard and
retired a Lt. Col. in 2002. He then went to work at Natick Labs.

As a devout Catholic he often taught bible studies at prisons and
churches. Another passion of his was sports, He was an avid fan of
Syracuse Univesity sports, the New England Patriots, and was a Boston Red
Sox convert.

He moved to Boston to marry the love of his life Mary Bennett. Together
they were blessed with 2 children Charley and Chrissie. His family
includes 10 nephews and nieces will surely miss ‘Uncle Binky’. His
siblings love him and will continue to do so, they include George Jr of
Santa Rosa, Ca; Bill (Fireball) of Dewitt; Marjorie of Austin, Tx; John of
Portland, Me; Bernie of Pittsburg, Pa; and Jennie of Syracuse. He was
always the life of our parties. He was infamous for his wit and joke
telling ability.

His family will celebrate his life in a local memorial service in St.
Teresa’s Church at a date to be annouced shortly. Although he lived afar,
his heart always and often brought him home to Syracuse. In lue of
flowers contributions can be made to charities of your choice

Holliston –

Charles Gerard Ferris, 50, of Holliston passed away suddenly on Tuesday November 21, 2006 at the Metrowest Hospital in Framingham. Born in Syracuse, NY he is the son of Frances (Gokey) of Syracuse, NY and the late George Ferris. He is the husband of Mary (Bennett) Ferris of Holliston.
An avid football fan and a 14 year resident of Holliston he was a member of Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston and a veteran of the Army. Enlisted from 1974 to 1978, he then joined the National Guard and went to College at U-Mass Boston. Following graduation he was full time in the National Guard until May 2002 where he retired as a Lt. Colonel, he then went to work as an analyst for Natick Labs.

Besides his wife and mother he is survived by 1 son; Chuck Ferris of Holliston, 1 daughter; Chrissie Ferris of Holliston, 4 brothers; George Ferris of Santa Rosa, CA, Bill Ferris of Syracuse, NY, John Ferris of Portland, ME, Bernie Ferris of Pittsburg, PA, 2 sisters; Marjorie Hilldreth of Austin, TX and Jennifer Carnes of Syracuse, NY

Visitation hours will be Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm in the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 126) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston, Burial will follow in the parish Cemetery.
