Carol Ann Meritt, 80, of Holliston passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Regina (Zamoyski) and Benjamin Petroski. She was the loving wife of 52 years to Roger L. Meritt of Holliston.  

Carol’s curiosity and love of learning defined her. She was a Girl Scout leader and brought arts and music to the Holliston public schools as a grant writer and early education coordinator. She formed Tree Spotters as a member of the Holliston Garden Club and initiated tree planting at a number of sites in Holliston and was an active volunteer for Holliston Action Committee for the Bird Superfund Site.  

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Alyssa Meritt of Portland, OR, Jason Meritt of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and her sister, Marlee Mesaros Newhart of Larksville, PA .  

Visitation and service will be held on Monday, March 20th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
