7/2006Hopkinton – Elizabeth “Betty” A. Garner, 80, died February 7, 2006 at the
Westborough Health Care Center.
She was the wife of Daniel A. Garner for 56 years.
Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Asa and Helen (Leonard)
Hall.
Mrs. Garner had been a beloved and well respected teacher for many years at
Elmwood School in Hopkinton where she had earned the distinguished nickname
of Sergeant Garner.
She had many interests including inside gardening, reading and participating
at the Hopkinton Senior Center. She and her husband enjoyed world travel,
always appreciative of their ability to do so. Mrs. Garner had been a
member of the Hopkinton Couples Club, the Christian Women’s Club of
Westborough and the Eastern Star.
Beside her husband Mrs. Garner is survived by her sons, Bruce, Gary and Karl
Garner all of Hopkinton and Eric Garner of Hopedale; a brother, Frederick
Elliott Hall and his wife, Lena, of Methuen; 8 grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Read Hall.
Funeral services, under the direction of the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57
Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, are private.
