Benjamin Richard Clancy, 33, of Holliston, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Born in Natick, he was the son of Andrea DeMayo-Clancy and Bryan J. Clancy of Holliston.

Ben grew up in Holliston. He attended Woodside Montessori School in Millis and graduated from The Wheeler School in Providence, RI. He attended Proctor Academy in Andover, NH and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY, where he was a proud member of the Delta Chi fraternity.

In February 2016, Ben’s life was dramatically altered when he suffered an anoxic brain injury. After his injury, he lived at home in Holliston for seven years with a wonderful care team, and in January 2023, moved to Timberlyn Heights Care Center in Great Barrington, MA. There, Ben found a community that became like a second family. Ben had a love for sports, especially football, lacrosse, and snowboarding. He was also a jazz guitar player, and music brought him much joy throughout his life. Ben had a laugh that could fill a room and maintained his sense of humor and his love for a good joke throughout all of his life. He clearly retained all of his long-term memories and could recall people and events with a twinkle in his eye. Ben valued his friendships, his relationships with his cousins, and the support of his family.

In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his sister, Sarah Clancy of Boston and his brother, Gregory Clancy, of Franklin, his brother Orlando Aponte and his partner Ashlyn Pichardo of Methuen. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Carol DeMayo of Williamstown, MA, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. Interment will be held at a later date in Williamstown, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben’s memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity MetroWest Greater Worcester, https://habitatmwgw.charityproud.org/Donate 640 Lincoln St, Worcester, MA 01605.
