Holliston-

Audrey M. Swantak, 82, of Holliston, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017. Born in Gagetown, New Brunswick Canada, she was the daughter of the late Viola (Ferris) and Cecil Vail. She was the wife of the late Wayne M. Swantak.

During the 1960’s and early 1970’s,  Audrey wrote and performed country music. She was a licensed home day care provider until her retirement. She was an avid gardener, loved to cook, knit and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Rickey Gallagher and his wife Liz of Framingham, Rhonda McGettigan of Holliston; her brothers, Walter Vail and his wife Eleanor of CT., Robert and Donald Vail of Canada, and Lloyd Vail and his wife Rosemary of New York. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Tammy, Trina, Ashley, Brennan, Jessica, Courtney, Riley, Kevin, Haley; 6 great-grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Adam, Emma, Vincent, and Conall; her beloved sisters-in law, Nancy Vail and Lillian Vail of Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews and her former husband, Hazen Gallagher of FL. She is predeceased by two children, David Gallagher and Joyce Gallagher Ouellet; her brothers, Ralph, Winslow and Harold Vail, and her sister in law Elizabeth Vail.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19th from 9:00-10:00a.m. with a funeral home service following visitation at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA 350 South Huntington Ave Boston, MA 02130 or mspca.org
