Hopkinton

Arvid Allen Druvins, 87, of Hopkinton, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at
his home. Born in Latvia, he was the son of the late Maria (Liepina) and
Joseph Druvins. He was the husband of 47 years to Barbara J. (Barton)
Druvins of Hopkinton.

A resident of Hopkinton since 1963, Mr. Druvins had immigrated to the
United States in 1951 and became a citizen on June 24, 1957. He had
attended engineering schools in Latvia, Germany and the US, graduating
from Worcester Jr. College in 1965. He had traveled all over the world
installing machinery and retired in 1987 as a technician from Ward
Machinery Co. of Cockeysville, MD. He enjoyed traveling, especially
visiting relatives in Latvia. He also enjoyed photography and spending
time with family and friends in the backyard at the pool.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Debora and her husband,
Bill Uliasz, of Northborough, Diane and her husband, Jim Forte, of
Texas; 2 grandchildren, Alex and Krysta Uliasz; brother-in-law, Frank
Barton, and his wife, Kathy, of Staten Island, NY; sister-in-law,
Beverly Barton, of Garden City, SC; and many nieces and nephews,
including those in Latvia. He is predeceased by his sisters, Ruta
Eglite and Merza Engelis of Latvia.

A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2008
at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St., Hopkinton.
