UPTON – Anthony “Tony” Petracca, 72, of Upton, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a long battle with leukemia.

He was the husband of Nancy (Danahy) Petracca for 50 years.

Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Anthony and Marie (DeLuzio) Petracca.

A resident of Upton for the past 34 years, he was a former resident of Hopkinton and Milford. He graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1953, and was a journeyman and master in plumbing and heating.

He served two years in the Army.

Mr. Petracca was an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Timothy J. Petracca and his wife, Laura, of Utah, John Petracca and his wife, Victoria, of Lancaster and Paul A. Petracca and his wife, Maureen, of Hopkinton; a daughter, Maryellen Barclay and her husband, Greg, of Tennessee; a brother, Robert F. Petracca and his wife, Inez, of South Carolina; a sister, Teresa E. Moschilli and her husband, John J., of Milford; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Col. John M. Petracca.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place Friday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m., at St. John Church, 20 Church St., Hopkinton.

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Hopkinton. A reception in the Church Hall will follow the graveside committal prayers.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation.

The family requests that no flowers be sent to the funeral. For proper research allocation, any memorial donations should include the name of Anthony Petracca and be sent to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA 02445.
