Annie M. Hager, 89, of Hopkinton died Saturday, August 26, 2006. Born in Acton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Matilda and Ole Granberg. Annie and her husband Sterling lived in Hopkinton from 1939 to 1958, moved to Holliston and returned to Hopkinton to reside with their daughter, Betty Wyckoff, a year ago.

Annie was one of 11 children, graduated from Acton High School with high honors and got married two months after graduation. She taught Sunday School at the Hopkinton Congregational Church, was a Girl Scout leader in Holliston, the Activities Director of the Clearview Nursing Home in Framingham and Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the Holliston Women’s Club.

She worked at the Gilchrist Store in Framingham and the Hat Factory in Framingham. She then went on to be a nurse’s aide in the Labor and Delivery Department at Framingham Union Hospital. Later she was employed as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Resnik in Holliston.

Annie leaves behind her husband of 71 years, Sterling B. Hager, a sister, Irene Evangelista of Saugus, MA, and five children: Christine Williams of Pembroke, ME, Dennis Hager and his wife Liz of Concord, NH, Susan Wood and husband Bob of Charlotte, NC, Betty Wyckoff of Hopkinton, and Sterling B. Hager, Jr. and his wife Susan of Norfolk, MA. Additionally she leaves seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 1, 2006 from 5-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton, MA

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 2, at 10:00a.m. at the Community Covenant Church, 2 West Elm St, Hopkinton. Burial will follow at the Mount Auburn Cemetery, in Hopkinton.
