Sherborn-
Annette Gentile, 88, of Sherborn, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela (Mancuso) Tortorella. She was the wife of the late Lawrence F. Gentile.

Annette was an active member of the Sherborn seniors Thursday Drop-In , local/regional walking club, and parishioner at St. Theresa of Lisieux in Sherborn, since moving to Sherborn in 1985. She grew up in Waltham. After marrying Larry, they raised their family in Watertown. Annette enjoyed singing, listening to music, reading poetry and literature. She had a good sense of humor and took satisfaction in helping others and working with friends for the common good.

She was the loving mother of Carmine Gentile of Sudbury, and Donna Wyse of Port St. Lucie, FL, loving grandmother of Sara Gentile of Boston, and Andrew Gentile of Sudbury. The devoted sister of Peter Tortorella of Waltham, beloved mother-in-law of Linda Hench-Gentile of Sudbury as well as 11 nieces and nephews, many great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles Tortorella, Lena Tortorella, Margaret Cerulo, Rose Sangermano, Josephine Pisani, and Mary Orifice.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A gathering will take place on Saturday at 9:00a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of her life at St. Theresa of Lisieux Church, 35 South Main Street, Sherborn. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wayside Hospice, 266 Cochituate Rd.Wayland, MA. 01778.
