Holliston – Anna L. Proctor, 74, died peacefully at the Holy Family Hospital
in Methuen Tuesday, August 3, 2004 after a long illness.
Her beloved husband, Charlie, predeceased her in 1990.
She was a resident of Holliston for 43 years, she was presently residing in
Methuen.
Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frances and Walter
Hildebrandt of Lawrence.
She was a graduate of Lawrence High school and was an accomplished gymnast
with the Turner’s Gymnastic team.
Anna was retired from the Holliston School system where she worked at the
Middle School for over 20 years where she had many friends. She was a long
time member of the Massachusetts Catholic Woman’s guild and St. Mary’s
Church in Holliston. Prior to her illness Anna was a volunteer giving many
hours at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham and also volunteered at the
Holliston Senior Center.
She leaves her daughter Kathleen Jewell of Worcester, her grandchildren
Benjiman Jewell of Lowell and Anthony Jewell of Ashland, 5 great
grandchildren and her sister Barbara Markey of Andover. She also leaves her
nephews Phil Markey and his wife Elaine of Salem, NH and Glen Markey and his
wife Angela of Newburyport and her great nieces and nephews whom she adored,
Courtney, Heather, PJ, Garret and Trent. Her son-in-law Tim Jewell, whom
she greatly loved, predeceased her in October 2003.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Washington
St., Holliston Saturday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m. Following cremation, burial
will be in Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston. Calling hours at the Chesmore
Funeral Home, 854 Washington St., route 16, Holliston
will be Saturday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Holliston Music Parents Association, 66
Howard St., Holliston, MA 01746 would be greatly appreciated. The
donations will be used to sponsor a student suffering a financial hardship
who would otherwise not be able to participate in the Music programs at the
school. Anna will never forget her “solo” with the Middle school band
