Hopkinton

Andrew T. Welzel, 49, of Hopkinton died Monday May 1st, 2006 at the Mass
General Hospital in Boston. Born in Framingham, he is the son of Gloria
(Bonazzoli) and Henry Welzel of Freeport, Maine. In 1992 he was married
to Maureen A. (Cafarelli) Welzel of Hopkinton.

A lifelong resident of Hopkinton, Andrew was a graduate of Salem State and
Boston University. He had worked for North Shore Medical and Partners
Healthcare. An avid runner, he had run many marathons and ultra marathons,
Andrew enjoyed summer races in Maine, being a youth coach for the
Hopkinton little league, basketball, and soccer teams with his children.
He also was part of the Youth Commission for 2 years, Hopkinton Running
Club, and the G.A.C. Running Club in Topsfield.

Besides his wife and parents he is survived by his 2 children; Andrew and
Kate of Hopkinton, 2 brothers; Conrad Welzel of Saco, Maine and Eric
Welzel of Brunswick, Maine, 2 sisters; Jane Welzel of Fort Collins,
Colorado and Linda St. Lauret of Newmarket, NH. He also leaves a few aunts
and uncles, 14 nieces and nephews and Lucy

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00
pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home 57 Hayden Rowe St. In Hopkinton. Burial
will be private. A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, May 5th ,
at 12 noon in the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton.
